Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, Food Science, Food Technology, or Home Economics with a minimum of 12 semester hours in food and nutrition is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to operate computers for data entry and word processing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill.
  • Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.

Responsibilities

  • Determines eligibility of applicants based on nutritional/medical risk assessment.
  • Provides individual dietary/nutritional counseling and individual breastfeeding counseling.
  • Teaches nutrition education classes.
  • Obtains height, weight, and hematocrit/hemoglobin on participants and plots on appropriate growth grids.
  • Scheduling appointments in a computerized format; follow up on missed and future appointments.
  • Answering a multi-line telephone system and processing calls efficiently and expeditiously.
  • Contacting participants via text and phone to upload documents and assisting them with the process.
  • Presenting a hospitality, customer centered and caring attitude.
