About The Position

Coordinates the hotel's activities and related personnel as directed and supports the AGM / Front Office Manager. Responsibilities Work all operations, including but not limited to rooms, food & beverage, and maintenance. Position requires practical leadership skills to build and reward a service culture. Responsible for the full implementation and consistency of Atira& Van Buren Hotel at Shipshewana standards and company expectations, brand standards, and industry rating for the property. Answers inquiries about hotel policies and services. Note- Other duties as assigned by AGM/Front Office Manager.

Requirements

  • Must have Holiday Inn& Opera Experience.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, Weekends, On-call
  • Previous supervisory responsibility experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including handling guest objections and disputes to satisfactory results.
  • Must be able to show initiative in job performance.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Team player to serve as a mentor for other employees and volunteers.
  • Maintain current knowledge and answer questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives (for example, technical orders).
  • Participate in hotel committees and task force assignments.
  • Assist all departments in servicing the guests during high-volume periods.
  • As a manager, you will be a role model, sharing your expertise and continually inspiring the front office team
  • Associate's degree or the equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Alcohol awareness certification.
  • Assistant General Manager and/or other certification as required by franchise.
  • Must have the ability to follow directions and be attentive to detail—knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and cleaning equipment are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed, including communicating positively and politely with clients, visitors, and other hotel staff.
  • Must be able to read and interpret written instructions and labels on equipment and products used by the department.
  • Will be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Will be required to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Will be required to be on call when away from work.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory responsibility experience preferred.
