About The Position

The Refreshment Center Attendant is fully responsible for ensuring all guests have a positive experience with the in-room refreshment center, aiming for high utilization and revenues. Attendants are required to record all sales from the refreshment center in a timely, courteous, and professional manner using Minibar Systems-supplied equipment. They must completely restock all bars with fresh products and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of each refreshment center. Attendants must also effectively communicate any operational issues to their supervisor and hotel management.

Requirements

  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Sense of order, alertness, and attentiveness
  • Possess a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Capable of working in a team environment as well as individually
  • Able and willing to work 3-5 days a week, 4-8 hours/day, including weekend days and holidays. Saturdays and Sundays are a must.
  • Physically fit, capable of standing, walking, and bending for long periods
  • Able to push/pull a fully stocked cart
  • Lift 35-40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Complete opening procedures in the Minibar System to include preparation of a listing of rooms to inventory each day, from a Minibar Point of Sale system, and preparation of a restocking cart using FIFO.
  • Complete the above opening procedures and proceed to the floors, ready to inventory rooms in a timely manner.
  • Receive and store products following FIFO when a new order is received, ensuring the Minibar storage areas are always kept clean and organized.
  • Clean their restocking cart and the Minibar Office area.
  • Push the cart from room to room during the daily refill process.
  • Restock an average of 130 minibars per full working day or an average of 65 minibars per half working day.
  • Knock on room doors and announce themself as instructed.
  • Enter rooms, unlock or open, and inventory the refreshment center, record sales and occlusions using the handheld unit, and restock bars as instructed.
  • Ensure all in-room accessories and promotional materials are present and replaced if required.
  • Wipe down and clean bars as needed.
  • Clean the minibars and snack trays.
  • Complete basic minibar troubleshooting.
  • Note any maintenance issues and communicate those to management.
  • Close the refreshment center, relock if necessary, and exit the room, leaving it in the same condition as when entered.
  • Maintain an awareness of products, product expiration dates, and inventory levels to prevent stock-out situations.
  • In addition to the daily restocking of 130 minibars, deep clean 7 minibars and trays every day, ensuring the expired product is removed and FIFO restocking is followed.
  • Remove any outside food that has been placed in the minibars by guests.
  • Return to and recheck DND rooms that were noted in the first refill round.
  • File reports in an orderly fashion.
  • Keep management informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance with respect to the refreshment center operation so corrective measures can be taken.
