About The Position

The Class II Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel. This role supports the upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff. All work must be completed in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining professional appearance standards in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact with staff and guests.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing required.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair work in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
  • Respond to guest room maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and repair guest room equipment including locks, sliding doors, televisions, telephones, lighting, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs including toilets, drains, P-traps, and fixtures.
  • Perform basic electrical work including outlets, breakers, lighting ballasts, and transformers.
  • Replace HVAC filters and light bulbs in guest rooms and corridors.
  • Assist with maintenance of fire and life safety systems including alarms, extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting.
  • Assist with maintenance of boilers, kitchen equipment, pool/spa equipment, and emergency generator systems.
  • Complete assigned work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance carts with required tools and materials.
  • Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
  • Follow departmental safety procedures and participate in required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering or Engineering Supervisor.
