POSITION SUMMARY Baristas needed in the Grand Market location! Previous cash handling experience required with previous coffee house/restaurant experience preferred. Must enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age
  • Must work in a kitchen with hot equipment
  • Must communicate clearly in English
  • Efficient problem-solving skills required
  • Work in a high volume and high paced environment
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred
  • Adhere to all safety policies
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards
  • Must have Colorado approved Alcohol Server Training certificate or must attend a Colorado approved alcohol server training educational seminar within 30 days of employment
  • Must have current Food Handler and Allergy training certificate, or must attend Food Handler and Aller-train certification courses for Alterra Mountain company within 14 days of employment
  • Lift and carry up to 50lbs. on a frequent basis (cases of food, soda, trash, etc.)
  • Stand for longer periods of time

  • Coffee house experience or previous restaurant experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Open counter-service restaurant facilities and stock up necessary supplies or prepared food for service
  • Operate point of sales cash register in high volume setting
  • Secure bank for the day and set up cash register
  • Maintain high pace while preparing and serving food or beverages in a high-volume restaurant
  • Maintain good customer relations; interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner
  • Clean-up after shift is over. Properly label and store food in correct and allotted areas
  • Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures, complete food safety/sanitation training and practice those techniques
  • Follow outlined recipes and plating guidelines to provide consistent product
  • Take orders accurately and have a good knowledge of offerings
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Problem solve and learn to utilize tools at hand
  • Other duties, as assigned
