POSITION SUMMARY Baristas needed in the Grand Market location! Previous cash handling experience required with previous coffee house/restaurant experience preferred. Must enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment.
Requirements
- Must be a minimum 18 years of age
- Must work in a kitchen with hot equipment
- Must communicate clearly in English
- Efficient problem-solving skills required
- Work in a high volume and high paced environment
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Adhere to all safety policies
- Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards
- Must have Colorado approved Alcohol Server Training certificate or must attend a Colorado approved alcohol server training educational seminar within 30 days of employment
- Must have current Food Handler and Allergy training certificate, or must attend Food Handler and Aller-train certification courses for Alterra Mountain company within 14 days of employment
- Lift and carry up to 50lbs. on a frequent basis (cases of food, soda, trash, etc.)
- Stand for longer periods of time

Responsibilities
- Open counter-service restaurant facilities and stock up necessary supplies or prepared food for service
- Operate point of sales cash register in high volume setting
- Secure bank for the day and set up cash register
- Maintain high pace while preparing and serving food or beverages in a high-volume restaurant
- Maintain good customer relations; interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner
- Clean-up after shift is over. Properly label and store food in correct and allotted areas
- Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures, complete food safety/sanitation training and practice those techniques
- Follow outlined recipes and plating guidelines to provide consistent product
- Take orders accurately and have a good knowledge of offerings
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- Problem solve and learn to utilize tools at hand
- Other duties, as assigned
