Overview
Join the Food & Nutrition Services team at the Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute, where your culinary skills directly support patient recovery and wellness. As a Hot Prep Cook, you will prepare high‑quality hot food items for both patient and non‑patient services while working in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and respond to basic written and verbal communication.
• Ability to recognize similarities/differences between words, numbers, and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients, and team members.
• At least six (6) months of fast‑food production or kitchen food production experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of hot food items according to established recipes and production plans.
• Assist with tray assembly and the preparation of special dietary needs, including puréed meals, supplements, and non‑patient food service items.
• Apply proper receiving, storage, preparation, and holding techniques for all food items.
• Follow strict food service sanitation, infection control procedures, and all HAACP guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef, Food & Nutrition Supervisor, Production Leader, and team members regarding department needs.
• Support other areas of the kitchen when needed, including cold prep, bakery, storeroom, café service line, dish room, and tray line.
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance in alignment with Orlando Health policies.
• Ensure adherence to all organizational procedures and standards.
