About The Position

The Hot Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting all mechanical equipment within an asphalt plant. This includes tasks like diagnosing problems, performing repairs, welding, and conducting preventative maintenance on various plant components like conveyors, dryers, and more. They also ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, often working as part of a team and sometimes requiring on-call availability. This position is for our Queen Creek, AZ location but may also work in Florence, AZ.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have own tools Wrenches, Rachet & Sockets, from 1-1/2" down, Impact, Grinder ( at least 4 ½"), and Welding Hood & Gloves, etc.
  • Previous Crushing Plant maintenance experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
  • Experience with stick welding, fabricating various materials, and using a cutting torch
  • General knowledge of hot mix asphalt business and operations
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues
  • Requires lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and regulations
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with other plant personnel
  • Ability to input data into computer systems for production and maintenance activities
  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy
  • May require two weeks working out of town

Responsibilities

  • Change Gearboxes, Work on conveyor belts, Bearings and Rollers, etc.
  • Diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding asphalt plant and crusher systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
  • Welding, cutting, and fabricating metal parts for plant equipment
  • Ensuring a safe work environment by complying with all safety policies and procedures, including OSHA/MSHA regulations
  • Must be capable of troubleshooting plant operational problems
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks like lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment
  • Identifying and resolving mechanical and operational issues with plant equipment
  • Maintain plant files and records
  • Perform other duties as assigned
