About The Position
This position drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor to move loaded and empty shipping containers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Uses tractor to move loaded or empty trailers to and from depending on location the port, rail yard, warehouse, and yard. Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspection of assigned vehicle and completes pre-trip/post-trip report; distribute as directed. Serves as a relief driver during peak periods or when drivers are not available. Other duties as they are assigned.
Requirements
- CDL class A required
- T.W.I.C. (Transportation Worker ID Credential) Card, allows access to the Ports
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record, no SR22 insurance.
- Copies of your CDL and DMV record required prior to start.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of warehousing, forklift and pallet jack operations, and inventory processes preferred.
