Hostler Operator/Warehouse
About The Position
Responsibilities: Yard Hostler Duties (First 4-5 Hours): Operate a yard truck (hostler) to move trailers within the yard. Hook and unhook trailer sets safely and efficiently. Ensure trailer movements align with operational schedules and needs. Perform daily pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections. Warehouse Duties (Final 2-3 Hours): Pick customer orders using a reach lift and order picker. Operate at heights up to 24 feet while securely harnessed. Use WMS RF scanner technology to track inventory and complete orders. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace. Perform basic math calculations and operate computers and company software. Other: Assist team members and support warehouse operations as needed. Follow all safety protocols and procedures. Treat co-workers with professionalism and respect. Qualifications: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Prior experience operating a yard truck/hostler (CDL not required but preferred). Experience operating reach lifts and order pickers safely and effectively. Ability to stand for long periods and lift items weighing 50 pounds or more repeatedly. Comfortable working at heights while harnessed. Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
