About The Position

Darigold is seeking a motivated Yard Hostler to join our NEW Pasco Plant. This role is pivotal to ensure timely delivery and storage of the finished goods we produce. The Yard driver is responsible for moving loaded and unloaded semi-trailers to designated areas on the property. Keeping track of trailer counts and conducting safety checks on various equipment. As a member of the Warehouse team, the Yard Attendant should possess the desire and ability to contribute to the overall success of the plant. Our plants create nutritious products 24/7, 365 days a year. As such, all Darigold employees are expected to follow all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold’s Good Manufacturing Policy, Standard Operating Procedures and facility employee training sessions. The ideal candidate for this role excels in a fast-paced environment and can handle multiple repetitive tasks. You are dedicated to executing excellence in the tasks that you are assigned by the Warehouse Manager. You should also believe in working with others to achieve team goals, while also effectively working independently without direct supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and follow instructions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work efficiently without supervision.
  • Able to lift and move up to 55 pounds.
  • Able to work nights/weekends/holidays.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Able to sit, stand, and walk through a 12-hour shift

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL
  • 2 years of semi, yard truck, or box truck experience.

Responsibilities

  • Move trailers on property with yard truck.
  • Back trailers into and pull out of loading docks.
  • Work closely with other warehouse personnel.
  • Conduct equipment inspections periodically during shift including:
  • Inspect yard trucks.
  • Reporting any damage or operational issues.
  • Inspect trailers.
  • Reporting any damage or operations issues.
  • Report trailer locations in the yard.
  • Clean dirty trailers before loading as needed.
  • Report the items in the trailers and if the refrigeration is operating at the proper temperature.
  • Adjust loads in trailers with manual pallet jack as needed.
  • Maintain a clean outdoor facility, always inspection ready.
  • Adherent to all safety and food safety practices.
  • Work outdoors for most of the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
