Summary: As a Host at Tavernonna, you are the first and last point of contact for our guests. You’ll manage reservations and guest flow while creating a welcoming, organized, and energetic environment. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance warmth with efficiency in a fast-paced restaurant setting.

Requirements

  • Previous host, concierge, or front-of-house experience preferred
  • Strong guest service and interpersonal skills
  • Confident communication style with a warm, approachable demeanor
  • Ability to stay organized and calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and a team-first mindset
  • Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required certifications

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and warmly, setting the tone for a positive dining experience
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating to ensure smooth guest flow
  • Escort guests to tables and provide menus as needed
  • Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, and management regarding table status and pacing
  • Monitor the dining room to balance seating and maintain service quality
  • Answer phones, take reservations, and respond to guest inquiries professionally
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entry area
  • Share basic menu information, specials, and restaurant details with guests
  • Support the service team during peak periods while maintaining front-of-house presence
  • Uphold all company service standards, policies, and procedures
  • Stand and move throughout the shift and assist with light lifting as needed
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
