WHAT YOU’LL DO The primary responsibility of the Cashier/Host is to accurately handle cash register transactions and ensure guests are greeted cheerfully and seated in a timely manner. They also serve as the restaurant’s first and last impression and must make sure guests thoroughly enjoy their dining experience. At Rio Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, we believe that every member of our team is essential to the success of our company. We expect all Team Members to take personal ownership in ensuring everything they do is in the best interest of the company. ROLE EXPECTATIONS Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Greet customers in a prompt and courteous manner and thank them upon departure. Determine the number in a party, accurately post transaction on cash register, and make appropriate change. Seat as quickly as possible. If there is a waiting period, ensure the guest has maximum comfort at all times. Properly rotate server stations when seating guests (requires knowledge of server abilities). Assist service staff in making certain tables are cleared and cleaned after each use and are set properly. Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris. Fill condiments as needed. Answer telephones using proper phone etiquette as described in CET standards. Count out cash drawer at end of shift. Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment. Ensure all Rio Hotel & Casino core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
