As a Host/Hostess at Hotel Effie's Ara Rooftop lounge you’ll be the face of our dining experience—welcoming guests with warmth, managing reservations, and ensuring every visitor feels like a VIP from the moment they arrive. You’ll be the liaison between our guests and the seamless service we pride ourselves on.
Requirements
- Friendly, outgoing, and guest-focused personality
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous hosting or customer service experience is a plus
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Team player willing to assist in other roles when needed
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to stand and move for up to 8 hours at a time
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to bend, lift (up to 50 lbs occasionally), and perform repetitive motions
- Must be able to see, hear, and communicate clearly
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and make them feel welcome
- Manage reservations, create waitlists, and provide accurate wait times
- Escort guests to tables and communicate server rotation to ensure smooth service
- Maintain a tidy and inviting front-of-house area
- Assist with bussing tables as needed to support the team
- Learn and describe menu items, specials, and restaurant offerings
- Collaborate with the team to manage guest flow during peak hours
- Complete opening/closing side work and general cleaning duties
- Offer outstanding customer service with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
