At Ko-Kwel Casino Resort, every Guest deserves to feel welcomed, cared for, and eager to return. As a Host/Busser, you set the tone for their entire dining experience-whether by greeting them warmly at the door, keeping tables and common spaces clean and inviting, or ensuring service flows smoothly for our team. You're the connector between our Guests and our Staff Members, creating a fun, safe, and memorable environment for all. What you bring to the table Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee. Greet each Guest with a friendly smile, make eye contact, and set the stage for genuine hospitality. Handle first and final contact with Guests: welcome them in, seat them comfortably, and thank them warmly as they leave. Manage traffic flow through the dining room-quoting accurate wait times, maintaining orderly seating, and introducing Guests to their Server. Keep the front of house-including floors, restrooms, and guest-facing areas-clean, organized, and safe. Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently, including removing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring tables are properly set for the next Guest. Support service staff by pre-bussing tables, refilling condiments and beverages as needed, stocking service stations, and maintaining supplies like silverware, ice, and paper products. Help set up for special functions, rearranging tables and chairs as needed. Answer phones politely and assist with Guest requests or complaints, always looping in a Manager when appropriate. Build rapport with Guests by learning names, remembering details, and making them feel like part of the family. Maintain knowledge of our menu, products, and happenings to answer Guest questions confidently. Follow all safety and sanitation practices and respond calmly to emergencies. Assist in training new Staff Members when asked, sharing your knowledge and positive attitude. Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

Requirements

  • A warm smile and genuine love for hospitality are essential.
  • Passing and maintaining compliance with our drug-free workplace policies is a must.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.
  • This job keeps you moving-expect to spend your shift standing, walking, reaching, bending, and sometimes climbing stairs.
  • You'll lift, push, or carry loads up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Balance and stamina are important, especially on busy nights or slippery floors.
  • Clear vision, good hearing, and calm focus under pressure help keep you and our Guests safe.
  • Weekend, holiday, and evening shifts are part of the rhythm here.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience in Guest service, food & beverage, or bussing is a plus.
  • Strong communication, reading, writing, and basic math skills help you shine.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment without losing focus.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills are valued here.
  • Food safety and alcohol awareness cards (or willingness to get them) may be required depending on local laws.
  • A bonus if you can remember names, faces, and little details that make Guests feel special.
  • Friendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.
  • Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.
