Sequoia Transitional Care is seeking compassionate and dependable Hospitality Aides to support our Nursing Department and help provide a warm, safe, and supportive environment for our residents. This is a great entry-level position for individuals interested in healthcare and working with seniors. General Purpose The primary purpose of this position is to support the Nursing Department and staff by performing a variety of non-clinical support functions to ensure residents are comfortable, safe, and their daily needs are met in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Essential Duties Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position; however, this does not imply that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. Become familiar with the facility’s administrative structure during orientation. Report all accidents/incidents and changes in resident condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse immediately. Answer phones and assist with clerical tasks at the nursing station (copies, filing, etc.). Assist with errands for residents and staff as requested. Keep resident rooms, closets, and common areas clean and organized. Ensure residents who cannot call for help are checked frequently. Answer call lights promptly and report resident needs to CNA or Nurse. Make rounds assisting residents with non-clinical needs (opening blinds, straightening blankets, ensuring call lights are within reach). Transport residents to meals, activities, appointments, and other areas as needed. Pass linen, make unoccupied beds, and distribute supplies to resident rooms. Clean feeder tables, wheelchairs, over-bed tables, urinals, bedpans, and other non-clinical equipment. Replace trash liners and maintain clean resident care areas. Pass meal trays, snacks, and water to residents. (Hospitality Aides do not feed residents.) Ensure water pitchers are clean, filled, and within reach of residents. Assist with new resident room set-up, greeting new residents, and helping them get settled. Assist residents with packing and moving rooms when transferring or discharging. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents. Report defective equipment, safety hazards, or concerns to the Nurse Supervisor. Maintain confidentiality of all resident information. Treat all residents with kindness, dignity, and respect at all times. Attend and participate in scheduled training, orientation, and in-service programs. Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies and procedures at all times.
