About The Position

Hospitalist - MUSC Health - Florence, South Carolina Responsibilities include: Managing the clinical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized patients; providing excellent patient care, performing physical exams, updating patient records and studying medical histories; Providing diagnostic, preventative and therapeutic health services to patients and family members in the hospital; Evaluating and treating patients in consultation as the primary attending physician; Coordinating the hospital’s diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative resources; Following through on cases to ensure effectiveness and alter the course of treatment as indicated; Reviewing and interpreting medical test results; Responding to questions and concerns from patients about their health; Discussing proper nutrition and self-care with patients to promote good health; Working with various medical staff (surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists) to provide patient care. Minimum requirements: MD degree in internal medicine and completion of 3 years of residency training in internal medicine. Must be eligible for South Carolina medical license and eligible for Board Certification in internal medicine. Foreign educational equivalency acceptable. Hours: 7am to 7pm, 7 days on/7 days off.
