Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time Nocturnist to join our team at Hospitalist team at Regional Medical Center in Newport News. We are looking for a compassionate and mission-driven provider who shares this commitment to delivering exceptional care. As a Hospitalist, you will serve as the primary care provider for inpatients, overseeing their medical care from admission through discharge. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, patient-centered care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience in hospital settings and familiarity with inpatient protocols
  • Commitment to patient advocacy and continuous quality improvement
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Virginia
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by [name of approved boards]
  • Current DEA
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care.
  • Ability to document appropriately and communicate with appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Ability to complete charts in a timely manner.
  • Experienced in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions
  • Basic working knowledge of managed care and Medicare population
  • Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional appearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
  • Coordinate with specialists, nurses, and support staff for integrated care
  • Monitor patient progress, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
  • Facilitate safe and effective discharge planning and transitions of care
