JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Hospitalist / Nocturnist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Southaven, MS • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: Apr 02, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Day and Night shifts available COVERAGE DATES • Apr 02, 2026 – Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Admissions: No (Day rounders; no admitting responsibilities) • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: General inpatient medicine (Neuro, Ortho, General Surgery, Cardiology, Oncology, GI) FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 339 (36 ICU beds) • EMR System: Epic with MModal • Office Equipment Available: Standard hospital equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Neuro, Ortho, GS, Cardiology, Oncology, GI • Support Staff Available: Day – 10 Physicians, 3 PA/NP | Night – 2 Physicians, 1 PA/NP • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Respond to Codes and Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active MS License required • Board: Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine • DEA: Active MS DEA with Schedules II–V required • Certifications: ACLS required • Experience: Minimum 2 years recent hospitalist experience • Other Qualifications: Case logs and CME documentation required for past 2 years; flu and COVID vaccination required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient hospitalist care including rounding and cross-coverage • Respond to codes and rapid response events • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic • Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
Requirements
- Active MS License required
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active MS DEA with Schedules II–V required
- ACLS required
- Minimum 2 years recent hospitalist experience
- Case logs and CME documentation required for past 2 years
- Flu and COVID vaccination required
