About The Position

Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan, Kansas is hiring a Hospital President to lead strategy, operations, and community impact across the hospital network. This role drives quality, growth, culture, and strong physician and community partnerships. Department: Administration Location: Manhattan, KS

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 5 of those years being in leadership/management.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree Highly Preferred
  • Critical Care Access Hospital Experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the senior management team in planning, directing and coordinating operations to achieve the organization's mission, strategic directives and goals.
  • Provide leadership to management team that enlists active participation/support and creates ownership of short- and long-term objectives necessary to achieve revenue/budget goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement policies and practices to deliver the optimal level of service to the community. Ensures that services are consistent with the mission, vision, values and directives of the organization.
  • Create a culture and environment that attracts, motivates, develops and retains qualified associates and physicians.
  • Provide leadership for performance improvement and quality initiatives to achieve high quality of care and patient safety goals. Ensures that the organization meets regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintains collaborative relationships with medical staff. Integrates physician perspective in strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate and partner with key leaders across business units to optimize the delivery of care to patients, families, physicians and the community.
  • Develop a strategic plan for this hospital that includes Wamego, the managed critical access hospital, along with the Flint Hills Critical Access Hospital network which consists of 5 surrounding hospitals that are aligned.
  • Engage with the community through various activities and participation including boards, committees, rotary, university activities, etc.. establishing yourself as a leader in the community.
  • Professional interactions with the board of directors and diocese leadership.
  • Serve as a leader in a small community hospital, understanding the benefits of being part of a large system. This entails explaining the benefits of being part of Ascension Health.
  • Comfortability working in a highly matrixed environment.
