About The Position

The Hospital Partnership Liaison (HPL) is responsible for building and maintaining strong hospital relationships, improving processes, and delivering education to enhance the overall culture of donation within assigned hospitals. This role serves as a subject matter expert and trusted partner, providing real-time guidance, collaboration, and high-quality customer service to support donation outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Hospital Support & Relationship Management Collaborate with hospital leadership to establish donation goals, align priorities, and implement strategic initiatives that promote a culture of donation Identify underperforming areas and initiate corrective actions to improve donation performance Provide ongoing support to hospital partners, including issue resolution and real-time guidance during urgent or after-hours situations Anticipate and respond to evolving hospital needs, including regulatory, policy, and staffing changes Ensure adherence to donation best practices and regulatory requirements Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, chaplains, social workers, respiratory therapists, and administrators Maintain a consistent onsite presence through rounding, engagement, and off-shift support (including nights and weekends as needed) Identify and develop hospital "champions" to advocate for and support donation processes internally Education & Training Develop and deliver engaging education programs on donation processes, regulations, and best practices Provide real-time education and guidance during active donation cases Lead training on donation pathways, clinical processes, and regulatory requirements Reinforce staff understanding of roles and responsibilities in the donation process Data Analysis & Reporting Collect, analyze, and report hospital-specific donation metrics and outcomes Identify trends in referrals, conversions, and overall performance Present data, audit results, and process improvement initiatives to hospital leadership Participate in post-donor reviews to evaluate performance and refine strategies Accurately document all interactions and activities in the electronic donor record (e.g., iTransplant) Compliance, Quality, & Process Improvement Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness Share best practices across hospitals and OPO partners to drive continuous improvement Participate in and support quality improvement initiatives, including PDSAs Assist with onboarding and mentoring new team members Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including CMS requirements and hospital accreditation standards Collaborate with hospital committees to address donation-related processes and performance Conduct follow-ups and corrective actions when process gaps or variances are identified Perform additional duties as assigned, consistent with the scope of the role Additional Role Details: Work Schedule Monday–Friday | 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Location & Coverage This position is primarily based onsite at UK Chandler Hospital, with additional support provided to UK Good Samaritan Hospital and other local partner hospitals as needed. Overnight travel to nearby facilities may be required to support active cases. Onsite Requirement This is a fully hospital-based role. All work must be performed onsite or at partner hospitals; remote work is not permitted. Schedule Flexibility Occasional daytime meetings or trainings are required. When applicable, shifts will be adjusted to maintain an 8-hour workday. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Healthcare, Communications, Social Work, or a related field required. Exceptional work experience may be substituted for education requirements. Experience: At least three years of experience in healthcare, marketing, communications, business development, or social work, with a preference for direct clinical experience. Position requires excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Healthcare, Communications, Social Work, or a related field required. Exceptional work experience may be substituted for education requirements.
