About The Position

Veterinary Operations Manager Calusa Veterinary Center is seeking a full-time Operations manager to provide leadership and structure to our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. With a solid understanding of the veterinary industry, and prior experience overseeing clinic operations, you'll be responsible for leading with clarity, managing multiple priorities, and contributing directly to the ongoing excellence of the clinic and the well-being of the animals we care for. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in veterinary practice management or a similar leadership role is typically required.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are essential to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of business and financial management principles, including budgeting, P&L analysis, and human resources expertise.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, veterinary management, or a related field is often preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day functions, including reception, scheduling, billing, and medical records management, to ensure efficiency and optimal performance.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor all support staff (e.g., veterinary technicians, assistants, receptionists). This includes managing schedules, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and fostering a positive work culture and cohesive team environment.
  • Manage budgets, monitor financial performance (including P&L statements), oversee accounts receivable and payable, and implement cost-effective measures to drive profitability.
  • Maintain a high standard of client satisfaction, address concerns promptly, and ensure a positive experience for both pets and owners.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the clinic, including equipment function and maintenance, cleanliness, and the ordering and control of all inventory and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the practice owner(s) or Medical Directors to develop business strategies, implement growth initiatives, and coordinate marketing efforts to attract and retain clients.
