About The Position

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Hospital Laboratory Director to oversee and manage all laboratory operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality laboratory services, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and staff development within a complex clinical environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field (required)
National Certification as a Medical Technologist (required)
Active state licensure (if applicable)
Minimum 5+ years of progressive laboratory management experience
Strong leadership and team management skills

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree (preferred)
Experience in hospital or complex clinical laboratory settings preferred

Responsibilities

Direct and oversee all laboratory operations, programs, and services
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies (e.g., CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, FDA, CMS)
Lead staffing initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for laboratory personnel
Develop and implement departmental strategies to meet quality, service, and financial goals
Manage laboratory budgets, financial performance, and resource utilization
Prepare and present Monthly Operating Review reports
Establish, review, and update policies and procedures regularly
Oversee vendor relationships and supply chain management
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork
Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure operational efficiency
