This is a crucial management role responsible for the entire patient meal delivery cycle. Requirements

  • Proven management experience in high-volume food service operations, preferably in a hospital or institutional setting
  • Non-negotiable requirement: Strong union management experience.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing business needs and schedules.
  • Ability to motivate staff and champion new processes; must not be afraid of change.
  • Generally follows an 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule, with weekends required when needed. (Must be flexible; hours may vary based upon the needs of the business).
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage comprehensive kitchen operations, including the tray line, meal delivery to patients, and tray retrieval.
  • Responsibilities include menu development, achieving KPI attainment, and ensuring strict adherence to both Client and Sodexo budgets.
  • Directly oversee diet office operations, ensuring accurate meal ordering and nutritional compliance for patients.
  • Interact frequently with Patient Experience Managers and be responsible for ensuring high-level patient satisfaction and exceptional dining experiences.
  • Oversee a large team of union employees.
  • Strong union management experience is required to maintain positive labor relations and ensure adherence to collective bargaining agreements.
  • Responsible for the management of frontline staff, including payroll and scheduling.
  • Act as a leader and advocate for operational improvement, helping to implement new processes and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with nursing teams and other interdisciplinary staff to ensure seamless service integration.
  • Manage operational administrative functions, including payroll, demonstrate comfort with technology (e.g., patient meal systems, reporting software), and take on project management responsibilities as needed.
