It provides leadership and directs the overall operations consistent with policies and objectives of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of education and experience
  • Ten years’ experience, with five years in direct people management/leadership

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the senior member of the leadership team providing strategic direction on operations.
  • Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic environment, and promotes teamwork within and across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problem-solving skills.
  • Exercises control over the business affairs of the organization.
  • Provides leadership and direction to ensure key strategic and operational goals of the organization are met.
  • Oversees the growth, operations, and financial performance of the organization to include leading the management team and monitoring actual performance against the strategic plan, and taking appropriate actions to increase revenue, leverage resources, and minimize expenses.
  • Develops, monitors and revises a strategic plan focusing and directing the organization's future course of action.
  • Develops key performance measures and establishes desired levels of performance based on customer requirements, comparative data and best practices.
  • Evaluates performance data and utilizes it for identification of improvement opportunities and to design and improve processes.
  • Oversees the employment, supervision and determination of compensation, consistent with the strategic and financial plan, for all employees of the organization.
  • Coaches and mentors employees.
  • Creates a culture of employee engagement.
  • Organizes departments within the organization through appropriate structure and delegation of functions.
  • Identifies succession planning needs within the organization.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with local, state, and federal government agencies, with professional hospital, civic groups, and related health system organizations.
  • Ensures all state and federal regulations are met.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare and financing, and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the operation of programs and initiating changes where appropriate.
  • Ensures the existence of systems to monitor all facets of organization performance, including fiscal viability, adherence to goals, quality of services, personnel, productivity and mission implementation.
  • Ensures systems are in place for the negotiation, preparation and evaluation of contracts and leases entered into by the organization.
  • Establishes process improvement initiatives to achieve value-based outcome metrics.
  • Increases organizational strength through introduction of new products and services and expansion of others and lowers the total cost of care in the market.
  • Provides operational support and oversight for all aspects of the organization.
  • Oversees marketing, communications and public relations activities for the organization.
  • Utilizes metrics to monitor the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Obtains and presents to the board a complete annual audit of the financial operations of the organization for each fiscal year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
