As a Hospital Business Office Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting the patients we serve with the support and guidance they need. You will assist patients with their medical bills by helping them to understand their payment obligations before their accounts become past-due, this includes ensuring their insurance providers obligations are met. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Previous experience working with commercial or other third-party insurance claims, medical billing/follow-up
  • Working knowledge of EPIC or other Hospital Information System (HIM)
  • Proven experience in hospital or physician customer service, preferably 2years
  • Strong proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathetic and patient-centered approach
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology is preferred
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
  • Pass company drug testing and extensive background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPIC My Chart a plus

Responsibilities

  • Answering inbound calls from patients and addressing any inquiries, concerns, or requests with empathy and professionalism.
  • Assisting patients with insurance inquiries, claims, and billing matters.
  • Providing information about medical procedures, services, and general healthcare inquiries.
  • Documenting patient interactions and updating relevant systems according to established guidelines.
