UHS is currently recruiting for our Hospital Administrator Program at Valley Hospital Medical Center (Las Vegas, NV). Valley Hospital Medical Center, located in the heart of Las Vegas, is a tertiary-care and teaching hospital that offers a comprehensive range of services, including advanced cardiovascular, neurological and surgical services. Valley Hospital has achieved nationally-recognized designation as a Primary Stroke Center and an Accredited Chest Pain Center. Advanced cardiovascular services include open-heart surgery, balloon angioplasty, cardiac catheterizations and peripheral vascular studies. Emergency care is available around the clock at the hospital. Among neurological services offered are coiling for brain aneurysms, neurosurgery and stroke care. Complementing the hospital’s neurology program is a neurology residency program and inpatient acute rehabilitation unit. The hospital also provides a wide range of surgical services including breast care, colorectal, gynecological, general, orthopedic, spine and vascular procedures. Endoscopy procedures are also performed. Additional services offered at the hospital include a wound healing and hyperbaric center and outpatient diabetes education and counseling. Valley Hospital Medical Center is a member of The Valley Health System, along with sister facilities Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Valley Specialty Hospital, Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital, West Henderson Hospital and Henderson Hospital.
Position Summary:
The selected candidate will provide day-to-day operations for various hospital departments and be assigned projects to further the strategy of the Hospitals. He/she will implement the strategy of the CEO and COO and will manage their assigned departments efficiently and effectively to maximize the quality of services and the profits of the hospital. The individual will also be enrolled in our corporate Leadership Development classes to further their development as a junior executive and prepare the indivual to become a COO within UHS.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the financial implications of decisions including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of departments and/or projects is required.
• Must be detail oriented and able to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations.
• Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians, managers, and employees is required.
• Master’s degree required (MBA, MHA or related program).
• Hospital management experience at a mid level (3-7 yrs)
• Acute Care Hospital Experience required
• Must be open to Relocation
• Strong Project Management experience
• Strong critical thinking skillset
