Role Overview: We are seeking compassionate, caring, and committed volunteers to join our Bloom Hospice Volunteer Program. Volunteers play a crucial role in enriching the lives of our patients by offering valuable companionship and specialized therapies, including music therapy, pet therapy, and other alternative therapies.
Requirements
- No prior experience in healthcare is required; training will be provided
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Availability to commit to a regular volunteer schedule for this unpaid position
- Must pass a background check and comply with all Bloom Healthcare policies and procedures
Responsibilities
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients
- Assist in providing specialized therapies such as music therapy, pet therapy, and other alternative therapies
- Work closely with the hospice care team to ensure patient needs are met
- Support patients' families and friends through Bereavement Program activities such as outreach, support groups, and administrative work
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, as well as patient privacy policies
