This includes recruitment, training, coordination, supervision, and ongoing support of volunteers across all hospice service areas. You will serve as a key liaison between volunteers, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary group (IDG).

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field (volunteer coordination preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and culturally sensitive
  • Emotionally resilient and comfortable working in a hospice environment
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
  • Ability to meet physical and mental demands of the role
  • Completion of hospice training program
  • Compliance with TB testing and other state-required screenings

Nice To Haves

  • Previous volunteer experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise delivery of all volunteer services
  • Recruit, interview, select, orient, and train hospice volunteers
  • Match volunteers to assignments based on program needs, interests, and skills
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer services and hours
  • Monitor, evaluate, and support volunteer performance
  • Ensure volunteer compliance with hospice policies and procedures
  • Plan and facilitate volunteer meetings and support activities
  • Promote community awareness and engagement with the hospice volunteer program
  • Prepare reports and updates as requested by leadership
  • Maintain compliance with hospice standards, infection control policies, and regulations
