Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Hospice Volunteer Coordinator position. In this role, you will be responsible for the following: Recruits, orients, supervises and retains volunteers. Responsible to ensure and document that active volunteer hours provided within hospice, at a minimum, equal five percent (5%) of total participant hours of all paid hospice staff’s direct care hours. Assures that volunteers are documenting their visits. Responsible to screen(criminal background check and references) all volunteers before service is provided. Maintains personnel records for volunteers, including evaluations, competencies, and summary of service record. Responsible for making sure that bereavement assessments and plan of care are completed. Attends IDT meetings. Provides grief support to bereaved, volunteers, community staff/residents and hospice staff. Organizes annual Memorial Service. Shares on call responsibility.

Requirements

  • College education and demonstrated experience in a social work, volunteer recruitment, or prior work/training in bereavement, loss, or grief
