Hospice Spiritual Counselor (Brooklyn, Queens and Nassau County)
About The Position
For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. The hospice receives patients from referring institutions throughout New York City and the entire tristate area. Requirements
- One (1) year experience in pastoral/spiritual counseling with issues relating to illness, death, grief and bereavement.
- Minimum two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral education, credentialed Chaplain or Board Certified Chaplain preferred.
- Recognition as a Pastoral or Spiritual Counselor.
- Baccalaureate Degree required; Masters preferred.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of hospice experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and members of the Hospice Team.
