About The Position
Health Care Connectors is a leading home healthcare organization dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients in the comfort of their homes. Our interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to ensure each patient receives personalized care that promotes healing, independence, and overall well-being. The Pet Therapy Volunteer provides comfort, companionship, and emotional support to hospice patients through supervised visits with a certified therapy animal. This role plays an important part in enhancing quality of life for patients and offering moments of joy, relaxation, and connection during end-of-life care.
Requirements
- Registered/certified therapy animal through a recognized therapy pet organization
Responsibilities
- Visit hospice patients with a certified therapy pet in accordance with scheduled visits
- Provide a calming and supportive presence for patients, families, and caregivers
- Monitor the pet’s behavior to ensure a safe and positive interaction at all times
