About The Position

Tabitha Home Health Care and Hospice, LLC - A Collaboration with Immanuel in Omaha, NE is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work PRN as needed. This schedule includes a holiday rotation. The Certified Nursing Assistant enhances the ability of Tabitha’s Seniors/residents/clients to remain at home, living independently for as long as possible by providing personal care, emotional support, assistance with activities of daily living, and basic therapeutic care to Seniors/clients. While doing so, they will contribute to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of Seniors/clients through respectful, professional, competent and personable interaction. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records of Senior/client care.

Requirements

  • COMMUNICATION : Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including medical terminology related to the job.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job.
  • Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction).
  • Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 50 - pounds, demonstrating strength and agility at Tabitha’s discretion.
  • AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.
  • EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CNA certification in good standing as demonstrated by inclusion on the Nebraska State Registry required.
  • All certifications must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee.
  • Must meet Tabitha’s vaccination requirements

Nice To Haves

  • EXPERIENCE: 6 months experience as an aide or caregiver preferred.
  • MA-40 certification preferred.
  • If utilizing MA-40 certification, CPR is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring/ambulation and continence.
  • Assists with Senior/client admissions, discharges, transfers and orientation of new employees.
  • Follows department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
  • Prioritizes assignments, making adjustments throughout shift to meet frequently changing/ overlapping Senior/client/caregiver/TEAMember/manager needs, call lights, when necessary.
  • Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by Tabitha, regardless of TEAMember preference.
  • Follows through on the comprehensive care plan/service plan as developed for each individual Senior/client.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations regarding privacy by insuring that Protected Health Information (PHI) is safeguarded at all times.
  • Implements activities for the Seniors/clients.
  • Prepares, plates and serves meals, snacks and other foods requested by/for/to Senior/client.
  • Assists with cleanup of the dining room and is responsible for housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.
