About The Position

Performs tasks as delegated and indicated on the care plan for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Nursing Assistant (NA) will understand the basic elements of body functioning. Understands the physical and emotional changes including those which occur in the death and dying process. Delivers age appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the patient per care plan. Assists patients in daily living activities such as dressing and undressing, bathing and eating. Good interpersonal skills, be courteous and caring. Must know medical terminology, organizational policies and procedures. Requires ability to do detailed work correctly, function under and handle stress. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client and patient population.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • Completion of a 75-hour nurse assistant course is required.
  • Required to be registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and registered in the applicable state's Department of Health.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Good interpersonal skills, be courteous and caring.
  • Must know medical terminology, organizational policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client and patient population.
