Position Summary: Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care In a safe and effective manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data collection and care appropriate to the age of the patients served, with appropriate Nursing Assistant interventions. The Nursing Assistant plays a key role in ensuring excellent customer satisfaction to our patients. Working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the constant observer maintains constant direct observation and visualization of identified patient(s). The Nursing Assistant provides activities of daily living to patients, and is responsible for providing excellent patient hygiene. Assisting patients with ambulation, toileting needs, and taking vital signs are additional functions of this role. Immediate attention to patient call lights is an expectation as well.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • One year acute care experience. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background
  • Current AHA Provider Basic Life Support
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certificate or Currently Enrolled Nursing Student who has successfully completed first semester of RN Program (ADN or BSN)
