About The Position

PIRTEK, the nation’s leading provider for on-site hydraulic and industrial hose assembly and replacement, is hiring for a Hose Assembly & Installation Technician to service, assemble, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in the Charleston, SC area. We are looking for a highly driven, self-sufficient individual with real-world mechanical experience and excellent communication and customer service skills to join our growing PIRTEK North Charleston Team. Our most successful Technicians are: Natural problem solvers Mechanically inclined with practical, hands-on experience Enjoy working with their hands & helping people, and Have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and take pride in their work Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is NOT required! Complete training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes and safety standards is provided. As a Mobile Sales and Service Technician, you will be helping a small business owner grow their local business and enjoy a career where no two days are the same. You will also be provided a company vehicle to use while commuting to and from work. PIRTEK franchises are locally owned and operated by people interested in your success. Many Mobile Sales and Service Technicians go on to become Operation Managers, Business Managers, and even Franchise Owners themselves. This franchise is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. Your application will go directly to the franchisee, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this franchisee. Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude – consistent use of hand tools & specialized equipment is required
  • Can safely & lawfully drive a large work van
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-motivated & positive attitude through difficult jobs
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop from moderate to extended periods
  • Safely use ladders, step-ups, stairs, etc.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check & drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Some heavy equipment operating experience is a plus
  • Experience in industrial development & construction, automotive / marine / field mechanics or a related industry is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate with integrity and take pride in doing quality work
  • Carry out service calls & visits to businesses in your local area
  • Identify faulty hoses and/or hose assemblies to service the customers’ needs
  • Remove worn or broken hoses before fabricating and installing the new replacement
  • Input service details into a tablet to create accurate invoices
  • Develop close relationships with new and existing customers
  • Maintain mobile service unit, tools, and equipment
  • Participate in the rotating On-Call schedule (with increased incentive pay)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
