PIRTEK, the nation’s leading provider for on-site hydraulic and industrial hose assembly and replacement, is hiring for a Hose Assembly & Installation Technician to assemble and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in the Charleston, SC area. Our most successful Technicians have these traits: Natural problem solvers Mechanically inclined with some practical, hands-on experience Enjoy working with their hands, and Have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and take pride in their work Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is NOT required! Complete training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes and safety standards is provided. PIRTEK also provides support through a 24/7 hotline for Technicians to ask technical questions. This is a messy job that requires manual labor and rotating on-call hours (on-call with incentive pay), so dedication and grit are essential.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined with hands-on, real-world experience
- Can safely & lawfully drive a large work van
- Self-motivation, positive attitude and persistence through difficult jobs
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop from moderate to extended periods
- Safely use ladders, step-ups, stairs, etc.
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Clean driving record with valid driver’s license
- Must pass background check & drug screening
Responsibilities
- Operate with integrity and take pride in what you do
- Identify faulty hoses and build and install new replacement hoses on equipment for a diverse customer base
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment containing faulty hose
- Carry out service calls & visits to businesses in the Charleston metro area
- Develop close relationships with new and existing customers
- Input service / work order details into a tablet to create accurate invoices
- Maintain mobile service unit, tools, equipment and manage mobile inventory
- Participate in the rotating On-Call schedule (with increased incentive pay)
