About The Position

Under the guidance of the Manager, Horticulture, the Supervisor Floral and Interior Plant is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all indoor gardens and plants. Partners with Department management to design and implement floral beautification throughout the property, and ensure floral arrangements are updated often and consistently maintained. Provides guidance to the Interior Gardeners and Floral Designers and oversees all aspects of special floral projects and requests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provides guidance, training, and direction to Interior Gardeners and Floral Designers to ensure floral arrangements and indoor gardens are maintained to quality and aesthetic standards. Visually inspects all indoor gardens, plants, and floral arrangements daily to ensure conditions meet appearance standards. Ensure all designs meet quality and aesthetic standards and meet or exceed guest expectations. Ensure daily/weekly routine tasks and schedules are being completed by assigned team members to maintain a clean and attractive indoor garden and floral arrangements. 2. Oversee various special projects and seasonal decoration, including plant and floral change-outs throughout the property. 3. Ensures all floral arrangements are within allocated budgets, and deadlines are met for requirements. 4. Oversees planning, project coordination, scheduling, and the purchase and replacement of equipment to support operations. 5. Communicates important matters involving personnel and facilities to Horticulture management in a timely manner. 6. Maintains cleanliness and order in all public and common work areas. Inspects work areas to identify potential safety hazards. Follows all enterprise and Department safety policies and all job-specific policies and procedures. 7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Facilities management, Environmental Science, hospitality or a related field required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in interior landscape required.
  • Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of Supervisory experience leading teams preferred.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Experience in methods and techniques of ground maintenance, horticulture, floral and interior design preferred.
  • Knowledge of plant nutrition requirements for various interior plants.
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements for various interior plants.
  • Must be able to follow safety guidelines when using required chemicals, equipment, tools, and techniques while performing job duties
