We're excited to offer the opportunity for a Fertilizer Spray Technician in Fort Myers, FL. This role will be located in Fort Myers, FL. Position Overview: This position performs a variety of duties related to the application of granular fertilizer. It is important that this job is performed with the highest level of detail in following specific application guidelines in accordance with the product label, environmental restrictions, county/state restrictions, community requirements, and company policies. These duties consist of, but are not limited to: loading the truck with the daily supply of granular product, tarping the product, strapping down the product for transport, loading trailer with ride-on spreaders, loading backpack blowers on to trailer, loading of gasoline containers, and once to the jobsite applying the product as well as any cleanup requirements. In addition, preventative maintenance on spreaders & two-cycle equipment, to include: checking of oil, checking of tire pressure, greasing, fueling, and overall cleanliness. Proper daily inspection of trucks and trailers is critical to the safety and efficiency of each crew. Safety gear such as ear plugs, eye goggles, safety vests, and work boots must be worn at all times to prevent injuries.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year experience in the lawn environment.
Drivers’ license of at least 3 years + clean driving record.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in high temperatures.
Previous operation of a hose & reel AND zero-turn spray machine required.

GI-BMP preferred but not required
Ability to read application rates on labels, and some basic math to be able to calibrate fertilizer spreaders

Responsibilities

Perform landscape enhancement tasks, including but not limited to spreading fertilizer, mixing and applying chemicals.
Maintain clients’ yards by diagnosing and treating insects, diseases & weeds.
Perform landscape duties that require lifting up to 50lbs and operating both a hose & reel and zero-turn spray machine.
Daily preparation of assigned tasks by loading tools, chemicals and equipment to performing duties for daily routes as assigned.
Drive a truck and trailer to/from job sites with supplies and equipment to perform assigned duties above.
Communicate professionally with clients and address concerns promptly, representing the company in a competent, professional manner.
Escalate issues to supervisor as appropriate.
Oversee your work product to ensure tasks are carried out according to project specifications; and safety standards are observed at all times.
Safe operation of equipment.
Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and all tools and equipment, while ensuring truck/trailer is in clean condition; report any repair needs promptly.
