About The Position

Are you a skilled Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Operator with an expert understanding of machine controls and locating equipment? B.H. Inc ., a nationally recognized leader in underground utilities and technology solutions, is seeking a dedicated HDD Operator to join our team. This pivotal role is based in the Wasatch Front, UT , and requires heavy travel to various project sites for extended periods of time. BHI will not cover relocation costs for this position. As an experienced HDD Operator we offer a competetive pay at $25.00 – $39.00 per hour (depending on experience). Additionally, this role offers project-specific Per Diem. Requirements

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an HDD Operator required.
Extensive knowledge of HDD techniques, ground conditions, and utility locating principles.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be prepared to travel extensively for extended periods of time.
Self-driven, organized, safety-conscious, thorough, and able to think analytically for problem resolution.

Responsibilities

Drill Operation & Precision: Operate HDD equipment safely, accurately using the locating system to guide the drill bit, track its progress, and ensure precise bore path execution.
Tooling & Maintenance: Perform necessary tooling changes for various ground conditions. Conduct pre-operational checks, routine maintenance, and troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
Utility Safety: Conduct utility pot-holing to safely expose and verify the location of underground utilities before drilling operations.
Support & Compliance: Assist the Foreman with planning and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations related to drilling operations, excavation, and utility work.
