About The Position
As a Diversion Worker with Utah Community Action (UCA), you'll assist individuals and families at risk of homelessness to find safe, stable housing, often before they ever need to enter shelter. You'll be the first friendly face offering hope, guidance, and connections to community resources, financial aid, and long-term housing solutions.
Requirements
- Has empathy and compassion for people from all walks of life
- Organized, dependable, and ready to assist where needed
- Communicates clearly and calmly, even in challenging situations
- Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Comfortable with technology (Word, Excel, email, databases)
- Knows (or is eager to learn about) community resources and referral processes
- Background check, drug/alcohol screening, sex offender and child abuse registry checks, etc.
