Home Support Specialist
About The Position
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide support and comfort to individuals with developmental and other disabilities, assisting them in leading self-directed lives, achieving personal goals, and contributing to their communities. In this role, you will help people in community living arrangements acquire functional living skills needed to live as independently as possible within their homes and communities, consistent with their stated needs, goals, and choices. You will encourage attitudes and behaviors that promote inclusion, dignity, and respect while fostering meaningful engagement in everyday life. Requirements
- Ability to maintain strong visual and auditory perception
- Basic proficiency in computer and mobile technology
- Sound judgment and reasoning skills
- Capable of organizing and managing work efficiently
- Skilled in preparing clear, accurate, and meaningful reports
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Willingness and ability to acquire and apply First Aid, CPR, and behavior/aggression management techniques
- Physical capability to intervene during behavioral crises
- Effective verbal communication skills
