The first primary duty of every employee is to ensure the safety and supervision of our youth. As a mental health facility, employees must separate personal problems from the youth who are entrusted to our care. The growth and rehabilitation of our youth demands a healthy and positive environment. Therefore, negative attitudes will not be tolerated. This position includes leadership and management responsibilities. The Home Manager is responsible and accountable for the hiring, scheduling, management, and training of all personnel assigned to their Home. They are responsible and accountable for the management of the Home's resources. They assess intervention situations and direct intervention support to the youth. They request critical intervention support as needed. They ensure consistent application of program elements to which they are assigned and ensure their team helps each student prepares for the next residential setting within the continuum of care. The Home Manager has contact with students, parents, clinical and educational professionals. Therefore, they must demonstrate quality interpersonal relationship and communication skills. They attend staff meetings, training meetings, and other meetings as required. They conduct in-service meetings for their assigned personnel. The Home Manager works closely with other Department Directors and/or Managers and interacts with other disciplines and departments in a cooperative, professional manner. They promote a climate free of undue conflict, establish effective communications and working relationships among staff, other departments, etc., to create and maintain an environment conducive to good care and performance. They routinely participate in various leadership, management, planning and treatment meetings.
