About The Position

Make a Meaningful Difference Every Day—one home, one meal, one conversation at a time as a Homemaker with the Visiting Nurse Association. This role focuses on helping others live comfortably, safely, and independently in their own homes. The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) is seeking a compassionate Homemaker to support clients by creating a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment. In this role, personal connection with clients is just as important as the household tasks completed. The schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with no evenings, weekends, or major holiday shifts.

Requirements

  • High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
  • Compassionate and sympathetic attitude with a sincere desire to help others while meeting the demands of the job
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English with or without reasonable accommodations as needed for the job
  • Able to lift at least 35 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Candidates must have a dependable, properly registered, and insured vehicle for daily travel between client locations.
  • Proof of insurance (declarations page) will be required upon hire with minimum liability coverage ($100k/$300k/$100k).
  • Current and valid driver’s license, clean driving record and be able to safely operate a vehicle
  • All offers of employment are conditioned upon the result of a criminal background check conducted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, as required by law and a negative finding on the Office of Inspector General’s Excluded Provider List.
  • US work authorization

Responsibilities

  • Building warm, supportive relationships during every visit
  • Helping maintain a clean and safe home through light housekeeping such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping/mopping, dishes, laundry, and bathroom upkeep
  • Preparing simple, nutritious meals and assisting with basic kitchen tasks
  • Running small errands, including grocery shopping, as needed
  • Bringing positivity, reliability, and respect into each client interaction
