Muir Home Health is growing and looking for an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team! This is a 6-7 contract position with potential to go perm. JOB SUMMARY The Phlebotomist c ollec ts lab specimens, venipunctures, and PCR test s utilizing proper patient identification and specimen labeling, proper use of isolation precautions, and proper specimen receiving and processing procedures in a variety of different settings. Strong phlebotomy as well as patient bedside manner skills are required to be successful in this position .

Requirements

  • Certified Phlebotomist with a valid California license.
  • Proven experience as a phlebotomist, with preference for home health experience.
  • Excellent understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to phlebotomy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety measures.
  • Familiarity with mobile phlebotomy equipment and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • preference for home health experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws and specimen collection in a home setting.
  • Follow established procedures for venipuncture, capillary puncture, and arterial puncture.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the phlebotomy procedure.
  • Properly label and prepare collected specimens for transport to the laboratory.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of each phlebotomy procedure.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians, to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on the phlebotomy process and any necessary preparations.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in phlebotomy techniques.
