About The Position

The Home Health Manager manages the home health departments including patient care, human resources, operational performance, capital equipment and budgets. Collaborates with the leadership team to ensure system wide standards of care, service excellence, and goals and objectives are met. Manager of Home Health for the Roanoke region. Company equipment. Collaborates with Clinical Leaders to implement daily services and supervises clinical care of both business units. Manages medical review and reimbursement appeals process. May make home visits for patients for staff supervision including for evaluations. Manages complex operational issues that could be legal and ethical nature. Ensures compliance with standards from all regulatory agencies and guidelines for reimbursement from all payers. Develops and maintains new employee strategies including orientation, in-service training, and continuing education. Mentors and works with the employees to grow clinical skills. Collaborates with the System to coordinate educational activities, based on ages of patients served and needs assessment to maintain staff competencies. Develops, implements, and monitors the fiscal budget and capital equipment needs to ensure delivery of care. Plans, prioritizes, implements, and evaluates the performance improvement activities to ensure compliance with standards and regulations but most importantly, to promote a culture focused on patient safety and quality. Arranges and negotiates services provided through contractual agreement. Ensures that annual contract credentials are documented and maintained. Responds to customers' and referral source concerns. Responds to all requests for information by third party payors and documents necessity of care provided. Ensures the accuracy of public informational materials and activities. Serves as communication link among physicians, staff, and community programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, business or related field required or must possess equivalent education.
  • Three to five years’ experience in health care management required.
  • Thorough working knowledge of current regulations and accrediting standards for the State of Virginia and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations required.
  • Experience in managing in a competitive environment.
  • Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia.
  • Must possess VA Driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, analytical business skills, integrity, innovation, team player, problem solving/conflict resolution skills and customer focused philosophy.
  • Experience in managing in a competitive environment.

  • Home health and/or hospice experience preferred.
