Requirements

• High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
• At least 2 years in healthcare, with home health or hospice intake experience required
• Strong knowledge of EMRs, medical terminology, and insurance verification
• Organized, thorough, and reliable
• Professional, compassionate, and confident
• Able to manage changing priorities; occasional evenings or weekends may be needed

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes by collecting and organizing referral and medical documentation
• Coordinate closely with physicians, nurses, and care teams to ensure a smooth start of care
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations promptly
• Enter and maintain accurate patient information in EMR systems
• Follow HIPAA and privacy standards at all times
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families
