The Holter Monitoring Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic tests to monitor the electrical activity of a patient's heart. This position requires direct patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Completion of an ECG technician training program or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system
  • Knowledge of ECG equipment and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems used for medical record keeping
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years preferred experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for the ECG test by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have.
  • Attach electrodes to the patient's chest and limbs to monitor their heart activity during the test.
  • Operate ECG equipment and monitoring the patient's heart activity during the test.
  • Record and analyze the results of the test for the physician or cardiologist.
  • Identify and correct any issues that may arise during the ECG test.
  • Clean and maintain ECG equipment and ensuring that it is in proper working condition.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of each patient's ECG test results.
