About The Position

Overall Summary: Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation activities of Bay Area Community Health’s (BACH) HIV Programs to effectively provide services and support to patients. Oversees the agency’s grant(s) including responsibility for program-related reporting. Participates in the interview process and recommendation to hire, train, supervise and evaluate program staff. Coordinates work with Outreach and Planning and Development staff to promote services and education in the community and maintain collaborative working relationships with organizations, professionals and public officials. Coordinates timely program documentation collection activities, agency and funder reporting preparation for management’s review and submission, monitor contract requirements and budgets and assures program staff adherence to State and County regulations. Assist the Development Department with grant writing and reporting activities. Participate in community needs assessment, program planning and HIC program resource allocation activities. Coordinate program work closely with the Site Manager to address issues and maintain smooth operations and allow staff to provide high quality and timely care and services to patients. Coordinate routine reviews, implementation, maintenance and monitoring the program specific and BACH policies and procedures. Monitor program staff for safety and compliance related issues. Model effective customer service techniques to program staff. Model a professional and respectful environment that supports integrated teamwork while promoting the dignity, privacy and confidentiality of patients, their families, co-workers and volunteers. Participate in the annual budget and business plan development process. Work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekends.

Requirements

  • College degree in Public Health, Social Welfare, Psychology, Sociology, or other related health field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related experience including the coordination of an HIV or HIV – related program.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of work related experience with HIV+ populations, active substance users, homeless individuals, and other vulnerable groups.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience conducting HIV testing and/or HIV prevention outreach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Power point, Excel, Word or equivalent software products.
  • Access to reliable transportation

  • Bilingual/bicultural a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the agency’s grant(s) including responsibility for program-related reporting.
  • Coordinate, implement, tailor, adapt, and evaluate program activities to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Participate in selection and recommendation to hire, train, supervise and evaluate program staff, as well as volunteers and interns.
  • Report to the Clinic Manager to address site issues and maintain smooth operations and allow staff to provide high quality and timely care and services to patients.
  • Contact organizations and professionals working with persons who are HIV+ to promote services.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with other HIV service providers.
  • Ensure HIPAA and BACH policies and procedures are maintained related to the input and update of confidential client files and database.
  • Ensure collection and maintenance of accurate, up-to-date program documentation.
  • Monitor program specific contracts and budgets to assure completion of program goals and objectives, and assure adherence to State and County regulations.
  • Coordinate routine and timely compilation and analysis of statistical data and preparation of reports to agency and funders as required by contract(s) or assigned by supervisor.
  • Work within program budget and coordinates related purchasing.
  • Coordinate work site preparation for clinic audits and serve as point person with Clinic Manager at time of audit.
  • Participate in community needs assessment, program planning and program resource allocation activities.
  • Coordinate routine reviews, implementation, maintenance and monitoring the programs policies and procedures.
  • Monitor staff safety and compliance with approved organizational policy and procedures.
  • Model department staff on effective customer service techniques.
  • Model maintaining a professional and respectful environment that supports teamwork while promoting the dignity, privacy and confidentiality of patients, their families, co-workers and volunteers.
  • Participate in the development operational procedures that promote quality patient-centered care, productivity and revenue enhancement, risk management, cost savings, employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Participate in BACH’s annual budgeting and business planning process.
  • Participate in the development of and implementation of the program’s budget and business plan.
  • Flexible work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, occasional overnight, and at various locations and outreach venues.
  • Attend workshops, trainings, and meetings as needed, and as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
