About The Position

Performs laboratory procedures according to protocols consistent with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988. According to prescribed techniques, prepares surgical and autopsy specimens for gross and microscopic examination by pathologist. Performs a variety of histology procedures, including preparations of solutions, special staining techniques, embedding, mounting tissue specimens on glass slides, maintaining laboratory equipment and related duties. Works with transcription and pathologists to communicate the needs of the physicians.

Requirements

• Associates degree in science or health related field, with lab internship.
• Must have ASCP certification or equivalent, or be eligible.
• Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of the organization.
