Skin Path Solutions, an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology is searching for a self-motivated, high energy Histotechnician to join our growing practice. Founded over 40 years ago with a mission to provide the highest quality and full spectrum of medical, surgical, and esthetic skin care services to each and every one of its patients, Anne Arundel Dermatology has assembled the finest group of Mohs surgeons in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states.

Requirements

  • Must have two years of cutting at mirotomy, with the ability to cut a minimum of 125 blocks in an 8 hour shift, three levels on the slides.
  • HT(ASCP) registered or eligible OR completetion of an Associates degree in Labratory Science, required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and utilize quality control procedures to verify accuracy of procedures and equipment.
  • Process, embed, section, stain, and coverslip all tissue for routine and special stains as requested.
  • Accurately and properly label tissue cassettes and slides with accession number for each patient.
  • Accurately file all paraffin blocks and slides.
  • Maintain the laboratory and immediate work area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform and document quality control on equipment. Notify manager of equipment malfunction.
  • Perform other specific duties that are assigned by the lab manager as required.
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
